It Is Funny...

... For being away from sea and walking land for some time, meeting natives and so forth, it kindles a tinder hearth of warmth- basically, of home, of childhood memories.

I came across a journeyman of two decades only whom wished nothing more except to travel. I questioned with,
"You must have a home, a city you can call home?"
"No- been to too many places."
"Ever want to go back to the place that made you the most?"
"Not really- what for? No one knew my name."

I subconsciously registered this comment too close to my own home, my heart. I simply want the best for my hometown... I do.

As soon as the thought ended, he walked away - and I walked the other way.

Being silent for so long, trudging thru the mud of the forest, a clearing, where a solution became visible... here it is.
I want the media to have the answer to this lockout.
It’s simple; I have no problem walking in to the courtroom and saying, ‘The NFL is done, it’s over’.
Chew on this: think what the owners make; now, switch that format around to where the fans and the players make what the owners make. It’s so possible.
All this money and all this time spent in courtrooms is stupid: traveling, jets, fuel, suits, - this is stupid; this is beyond easy for me: the NFL is done; it’s over.
I’m going to give you one team, one example: Cleveland.
The Cleveland Pros will be coming to your hometown: either it be Blue Devil Stadium, Catan’s Stadium, Byer’s Field, Valley Forge.
All these pros played HS football before they played college football; they are absolutely going to love going back and playing as a pro on a HS field; it’s getting back to their roots.
If I was part of the players union I would walk in the courtroom and say, ‘We are done, it’s over’.
New motto: For the Love of The Game
New name, better name: American Football.
Every city in the NFL has major HS football stadiums and every player in the NFL has played HS football and remembers how it was.
32 owners should be able to hold millions of people hostage: does that sound like America to you, an organization that you want to follow? If I just held one person hostage, just one, I would be shot in the head in two hours. But it’s okay for 32 people, that were born, just like you and me, to hold the entire American nation hostage?
NFL is over; it’s done.
We are going back to the roots, the gridiron.
We are American football, we are all equal; we are men of the game.

SIDENOTE: CBS made a billion dollars off of Two and a Half Men, a sitcom: Imagine the exclusive rights what they could make off of
American Football.

There are four major networks that could be a part of American Football, all we need is one to make it happen: it’s that easy.
Growing up, we listened to Metallica, Guns n Roses and any metal we could get a hold of; we just played backyard football, and at the time, played with a buddy of mine that became a future pro. There were no fans, no TV cameras, just boys playing because we loved American football. We played because we loved the game: through the snow, through the rain and in the mud... was our blood. Because of the game that boy became a man that fought for our country and he had the honor of carrying the American flag after 9/11; he played for the city of Green Bay.
NFL is done, its over; no more greed, the NFL is done, it’s over.
It’s about having fun: for the love of the game.
American Football is about honor, friendship, and integrity. I have the Howard Hughes mentality: line up all 32 owners on the field of play; I will take them done like Brad Pitt in the opening scene of Troy, because heart and mind and soul are more powerful than any wallet in the world.
I’m sick, I’m tired of American greed. If we don’t act now it will destroy our great country.
I am a published author; I wrote the book titled ‘The Unanswered Dreams of a Dead Man’. Writers can create wars and they can end wars; it’s called a declaration and a treaty.
I am ready and willing to do whatever it takes to work with the Players’ Union.
The fans and the players will own American Football... the way it should have been from the beginning.
The owner won’t open the books? Because they made over 20 billion dollars? On the players? Not 9 billion dollars?
99 percent of this country is barely holding on, 1 percent is naïve to the fact that greedy men never know what they are doing to the rest of this country.
No more glitz and glamour; nor ego and greed; just bloody knuckles, backyard brawling; what I’m talking about will be ten times better than what the national football league could ever be.
There are times in life when you have to break loose and say ‘It’s done it’s over’. Like a bad relationship, like an unfair job and you have to know when to end it before it gets out of control.

This is two days of concepts and thoughts; give me less than a week with the Players’ Union and the fans and the players will forever own American Football.
This is football, this is chess; I have tactics. I can take on 32 owners. I have read the material; Patton, MacArthur, Napoleon, Churchill, Lincoln, and John F. Kennedy.
There is no need for the steelers, the ravens, the bengals, the bears, lions and panthers – Oh my.

AMERICAN FOOTBALL

It’s Cleveland versus Pittsburgh; it’s Dallas versus Washington; it’s Chicago versus Green Bay; I’ll say it again- no more glamour and glitz, this is football. The heartache, the tears, the blood, and the guts. Football is about passion; if you don’t want to watch American Football- then don’t tune in. It will not be a problem signing a contract with one of the major networks; I have the ideas for the Players’ Union and how the money will distribute; that will take less than 1 week; it’s that easy, period.
I am taking greed and replacing it with honor; I am Ted Gerencser, just a kid from Cleveland, just a kid who stared out the window at the stars, just a kid who believed that anything is possible.
The owners are stupid: you allow me to work with 1600 of the greatest athletes in our great nation with the greatest fans in the nation and you have the nerve, the nerve, of holding all of America hostage:

“It is over, it is done, NFL is over, American Football will rise from your ruins.”

What "The Secret" and "The Power" Do Not Tell You

These two books are undoubtedly successful, minimum for both is above 20 million copies sold... however, I would like to comment:
TO BE READ WITH LENNON'S "WORKING CLASS HERO"
A frustrating tendency of business shakers and movers responsible for entertainment, performing acts to be exact, is their deliberateness to support policies that are no more original and innovative than the stereotype they embody.

It is their damning chase to box office glamor splashed on TV news and newspapers emboldened by their zealots tragically lured to the improbable balance of business before art. It doesn't retreat.

These self-defeating ideals are the crutches for their platform to building the fortress walls ever higher from the serfs, the broadening majority of new talent with fresh perception and teetering lower-to-middle income lifestyles.

In order for the sensibility of this widening chasm, consider the tens of thousands of artists whom have scrapped their dream because it was not in their control, their direct, proactive ability, to pursue.

Most can, and will, disregard this sentiment as neatly as some homogenized cynical artist who couldn't accept their delusions as non-entertaining: the artist's misguided mission kept in Fantasy-land.

The only thing that keeps this caste of freedom fighters from spiraling into defeat is the vast legions that have art or humanities on their brain every waking minute, every waking day... But the metastasizing presence of altering their craft for the more acceptable formula is a true concern. Either dumb down, dilute, underscore, disclaim, or deny their ersatz motivations so they can eat or even buy a bar of a soap.

If we haven't lost our way yet, where do we get our compass to reorient ourselves so the cornerstone of importance is to cultivate the throngs of dreamers in this chronic, dishelved class system of bottom-feeders, I mean, bottom-liners.

Get aggravated and piqued - let the sanguine blood flow through your categorically, monochromatic bodies. Or die bitter and gnarled. Creativity and innovation is my blood; disgust for the current affairs is my excrement.

Let's move to a composite picture with foreboding entrance to a cemetery in the encroaching background:
A girl grows up in a little suburban town insulated from the daily turmoil of inner-city happenings, tickings; a clear chaos of non-power and non-influence. As the girl moves to adolescence, her mind outgrows the provincial boundaries. So to a city she abounds: where other people are available to share her passions and aspirations, cultivating these seeds for something amazing.

But, problems grow as her life increases to the aforementioned, and indirect yet they are, a splintering from this social nest emerges into a new orientation of the dream, a dream. She doesn't forget her first enclave so she returns ready to share, tweek, reinvent. For she learns creativity is not an island of positive thinking but a shared collaboration. It happens when similar minds bounce their varying mentality into a heterogeneous compound: flexible and intense, trust in social tendencies, a hub with no clan or kinship prerequisite.

The epilogue: Lost amidst the chronic finances left by underemployment, resources and training. Give me a sledgehammer & I'll be content.

Anything and Nothing

Does the book toy with structure to evolve from convention due to its investigation/questioning the flaws and quirks of current life’s priorities?

Does the book mix off-kilter characters into a larger machination upon our consciousness of love remembered, life’s purpose, and immortality?

It is a concise story told in first person so it may rise to the conceptual affair it was conceited to be: excusably pretentious but nevertheless rewarding in its breadth for the reader.

It is not a cross-country trek between two men of undulating age, but a literary pursuit of gumption through its mood, tone, form and style. It embraces the challenge to be considered and forgotten now to be unearthed and transcended 100 years later.

Critics may question the how instead of the why: the latter is the call for understanding why we act so orderly and pretentious in our first half of life and then simple and free of outside, uncontrollable elements.

Shakespeare had seven stages of man: ‘infant to schoolboy to lover to soldier to justice to clown and, finally, second childishness... mere oblivion’. And from this, who can say right or wrong that we do not experience these events within each stage itself – when we are a lover we don’t become a clown, or, when we are an infant we are not a soldier? It is outlandish to simplify and assert this preposterous notion but then is it not preposterous to accept Shakespeare’s simplicity with categorizing life into seven stages? Not at all because it’s Shakespeare thus Shakespeare is right? So by default the 23 chapters in ‘The Unanswered Dreams of a Dead Man’ is upon itself a serendipitous assertion to the stages of an old man on his way to a second chance and a young man on his way to taking a chance.

In the end, writers are just experimenters. The trailer is below...

Luck is the moniker,

The voyage has been long and treacherous but one question still abounds from the fellow Utopians in tow and family abroad: Where in the hell is American Utopia? Alas, a good question as I see water all around still.

I don’t know. But it exists for the purity of art and the audience with little politics… except for bailouts from our homelands. This umbrella land is there for the last harvest of the century because when I was given a photo as an idyllic, young boy: it exists. So we, Ted and I, put these fledgling dories together with few supplies to find it. And we will, minus tweeting and Rockstar [although a Big Mac does sound good]. I imagined it was east of the Easter Islands… or was it west of the Western Indies? Damn GPS- it tells you one way repeatedly when you can’t go that way- fuck it, just take, yes, take the batteries out.

Anyway...
As today's afternoon begins, chores finished, everyone entertains ourselves with stories, pictures and music the fellow Utopians are excited to bring… for now, I'm surprised about how much material you can amass[ha! sailor's joke... nevermind]. We sail on in anticipation for more… and a big shout out for Jeff Buckley, you're in spirit, but the money runs low so we had to find new means of trading.

So we were talking and got side-tracked... tell me again why I should-

I am a creator of my own destiny- what I instigate is where my beliefs, principles, and desires are rounded... if that's the word.

Tell me then: what is "The Struggle of This Life"?

It is a symphony of images: man vs. himself as his rite of passage is for all to participate in a theater hall on a particular night. Everyone is gathered for his battle against the Devil.

And what about "Last Call"?

"Last Call" is a homecoming.

For a fresh, college graduate, full of idealism versus the real battle of everyday; Neil, the protagonist, finds himself hunting for success underneath the internal/external shadow of his parents tavern.

And your comedy-

I do want to talk about it, but I don't, but I do, but I don't... so I won't. It's our next project.

Fair enough. Calling in to agents, producers, managers, it has to be tiresome, no?

Yes, it is. 'May I speak with the literary department for queries?' Say that a hundred times and you tell me. 'I would like to send a query letter independent of all legalities'. The statement almost automatically hinders you but what else are you going to say, you know? I could go into the classic two movie pitch: example, "The Struggle..." It is a journey of 'A Clockwork Orange' vs. 'It's A Wonderful Life'. The winner is determined by the Audience, and I want you to capitalize audience, because they are what is the most important.

You are very passionate sitting here, talking with you... I was just handed a note about "Cut, Dry, and Unedited". What is that?

Can be done, can be done in Cleveland, hometown, for less than ten grand. Have two violins and timbre drums as a soundtrack. Set should not, I stress NOT, show depth- consider this hotel room, which it takes place, as a walk-in coffin... rectangular.

You have me-

Can I go back to "Last Call"? I like to figuratively create an image: a slow boil of real execution, depth, and consequences, what you want vs. what you need. Does "Last Call" have a two movie comparison? ... As a writer, I have to claim illiterate.

What are your fears in this, or even life?

Interesting. [long pause] Fears of assimilation, fears of grandiose taking over the sensible fears of being forgotten, umm, fears of never achieving Love, capitalize the L, fears that my branch of quasi-realism manifests within parameters that in 1789-1800 thought. Fears that I die... ... without family and friends. That I want to hear certain music if I die a slow death. But in rhythm.

Okay, solemn, but what do you live for?

To read, write, hear other artists' pain. To pay it forward by understanding and categorizing where it fits in my life.

So its all about yourself?

No! No! ... Not necessarily. I mean [long pause] I find comfort in seeing grandiose expenditures on production because it can happen with mine or other Utopian's, "The Struggle..." being the most.

I think you dodged the question- what do you live for?

Well, okay, okay, to be read, to be understood and helpful. There are many artists yet to experience their epiphany, their cathersis, living was never meant to be looked upon as one side is better than the other. But as history speaks, only in lost tomes, the poem I just read was 230 years old. Seigneur, nobles, magistrates, royal has turned into house reps, senators, lobbyists, Kennedy, the President.

And we are to understand that as?

If our best institution of America would understand, meaning Hollywood, I have a partial for them, if they have a bigger, better goal in life then... if they only knew what they have! Hollywood minus greed equals the largest university bordering on propaganda, but I digress, am I?

No, I don't see it, but is there an answer to why you live? I feel that you ice-skate and dance. I find it to be amusing but dishonest... personally.

[Long pause] If I may... I would like to intrude upon this... so-called interview and rant... [nods around]

[cough] Pouring music into the decanter, the decanter pours into the glass, the glass jingles with ice, the drink is hollow, it sits. Take it! Drink! Hitherto my friends, music makes the difference even if no one is there or a stadium is filled. [pause] I say that because I chose 'The End' by the Doors to be on as I do this.

For what it was, fascinating, but to get back to-

Everything is judgment... do not get me wrong there is a limit, a chalk-line and a convenience line, but they are separate.

Wrapping this up, who do you speak for?

[Long pause] I guess I attempt on speaking to the Audience. I hope I do because they are what matters.

Discovering the Potential to American Utopia

This is not American Utopia… yet. This blog is not just a place to sell t-shirts. It’s not just about “The Struggle of This Life”. It is about landing upon the reality in finding not just other artists, musicians, screenwriters, and everyone who has the passion to put it out there for the audience, but also the land of people who can produce for the privilege of the audience who then reciprocates.

The simplicity of introspection upon living life as one life is not a misnomer. It’s simple.

By building the foundation, by placing the first brick, I desire this network of other’s who believe in the infinite amount of art available to everyone and enjoying the result. Artists discovering their passion and performing, displaying for an audience and cultivating emotions that can inspire, evoke pain, question reality, and ultimately, provoke our own thoughts are not new… but does it happen on a basis where you [artist or audience] do not lose?

Adding the title American in front of Utopia may be a misnomer to most; nonetheless, 6 months, 1 year, 5 years, 50 years, I may not come across this Utopia in America; however, conceiving this land, attempting the necessary struggle, persevering through the futile: who knows the potential of re-investing continuously for future artists to come across American Utopia where it can be sowed and reaped.

This is a fledgling; my personal writing has suffered, but I have the capability of crawling before running… running into American Utopia is the answer.

Let’s just keep it simple it’s that complex.
